Kava Root is the Most Effective Natural Anti-Anxiety Supplement Available
Known as the South Pacific’s root of happiness, Kava is a medicinal plant that produces a rare state of calm, relaxed focus without compromising mental clarity or memory. Organically grown in Vanuatu, and sourced directly from small Pacific Island farmers, Dragon GongFu’s micronized Kava Powder can be added to any cold drink to instantly experience a relief in anxiety, depression, restlessness, sleeplessness, and stress-related symptoms such as muscle tension or spasm while improving sociability, mental clarity and creativity.
Feel Euphoria & Relaxation for Hours
Dragon Gongfu’s Noble certified CO2 extracted Kava powder, with a 34.9% Kavalactone content, is a safe, natural, non-addictive alternative that doesn’t impair cognitive function. Unlike other substances, drinking Kava is not habit forming and you will not build up a tolerance to the effects (causing you to need to drink more each time). In fact, Kava is a known adaptogen; the more kava you drink, the less you need to drink to gain the same beneficial effects. Kava will also not overly dehydrate your body or fill it with the toxins that result in headaches and hangovers.
A Drink Enjoyed for Centuries
Kava culture is woven into the very fabric of life on the islands of the Pacific Ocean. Islanders have used Kava for centuries in social rituals, religious ceremonies and for medicinal purposes. Kava drinking is an integral part of religious and ceremonial occasions and has been used for medicinal purposes on the islands for many centuries. The marking of the significant milestones in the life of an individual, family or community all include a Kava ceremony. Today, on the islands, drinking Kava for social relaxation is as common as drinking a glass of wine or a beer is in the United States or Europe.
Kava has a 1500-year history of safe use
A European Study that is often cited in the Kava literature suggests that Kava use may be linked to liver damage. This study, however, was shown that cases of liver toxicity attributed to Kava actually occurred only when the person was also taking other drugs and medications known to negatively affect liver function or consumed contaminated kava products. Unfortunately, the prevalence of misinformation stemming from that study dominates online and regularly turns up in badly researched articles. More up-to-date studies have since been done to gain a better understanding of Kava and have revealed important health benefits.
The National Library of Medicine has stated, “based upon reported cases, the estimated frequency of clinically apparent liver injury due to kava is less than 1:1,000,000 daily doses. The World Health Organization’s Codex Alimentarius concludes as follows: “Kava has had at least a 1500-year history of relatively safe use, with liver side effects never having arisen in the ethnopharmacological data. Clinical trials of kava have not revealed hepatotoxicity as a problem. This has been confirmed by further studies evaluating the toxicology of kava drink. Based on the available scientific information it can be inferred that kava as a traditional beverage is safe for human consumption.”
How to Consume Kava Safely
When drinking Kava the first thing you may feel is your lips and mouth may become slightly numb. Don’t worry; this is normal and it will pass, and is actually a sign of high-quality Kava.
You’ll generally start to feel the relaxation and euphoria soon after drinking a serving. The euphoric and uplifting effects of a good Kava may be felt for anywhere between 1-3+ hours while the stress relieving and relaxing effects can last even longer. After a few hours you may feel sleepy as your muscles relax and your body starts to feel heavy. The length of the effects will also depend on how many Kava drinks you have consumed.
For some people, the beneficial effects of Kava are not felt when you first drink kava. It may take a few Kava drinking sessions before you start to feel its amazing ability to relax mind and body.
You can have more than one drink or serving of Kava in a Kava drinking session, but the effects may not kick in immediately, so its best to wait a while before enjoying your second serving. If you don’t feel the full desired effects after waiting, it is completely ok to have another serving or two until you find yourself experiencing relaxation and calmness.
It is always best to drink Kava on an empty stomach so that the active ingredients can be absorbed efficiently. If you try Kava on an empty stomach and find it makes you feel a little nauseous, then follow the drink with a Kava chaser: a slice of fruit, nuts, or a small snack.
Kava consumption is self-limiting. If you start to feel dizzy or nauseous when drinking kava, it’s likely kava’s way of telling you that you’ve had enough to drink for the night
Kava Consumption Recommendations
Do not drink or mix Kava and alcohol together
Do not drink Kava if you are taking any other substances or products that depress mental function or if you are taking antipsychotic or anti-anxiety drugs.
Research suggests that use of Kava doesn't impair cognitive function. It is suggested, however, to refrain from driving when enjoying Kava.
We recommend that pregnant women interested in drinking Kava consult a physician first.
Do not drink Kava if you have or have had previously problems with your liver.
We would also recommend that those suffering from Parkinson’s disease avoid the consumption of Kava, especially if they have mobility problems, since Kava can make your limbs feel heavy making movement feel more problematic.
There is no law that requires someone be of a certain age to drink Kava, but, if giving kava to your children, keep in mind that Kava does have physiological effects.
